Your host - Patrick Chabrolle
I was born in September 1964, in the Hospices de Beaune maternity department.
The grandson of a wine-producer, I would often stroll along this rue de l’Hôtel Dieu as a child!
Each year for 20 years I have helped with the grape harvest on the family estate (Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot).
For 23 years I have been selling wines and spirits (champagne and wine) to restaurants throughout the Côte d’Or region, and to business leaders. Having spent all these years travelling the length and breadth of Burgundy, my goal is to one day stop living out of a suitcase and return to my roots in this beautiful city of Beaune.
I am passionate and enthusiastic about my region, with its wealth of history, terroirs, climats, landscapes and colours that offer unique spectacles for every season of the year
I want to share the beauty of my region with all the people who want to visit Beaune, whether for a short, medium or long stay, while making the most of a one-of-a-kind location: the Hospices de Beaune.
Les climats de Beaune
In 2014, working with Charlotte Mervaille, pa keen interior decorator, I had the opportunity to renovate two apartments located across from the Hospices de Beaune.
Offering them for seasonal and tourist lets allows me to fulfil my great goal: For travellers from around the world to be able to stay in this spectacular place.
The apartments – Les Ursules, Les Pougets – are named after appellations of the Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot. In this way I pay homage to 4 generations of my ancestors in the Louis Jadot family:
- Louis Henri Denis Jadot - 1821 à 1900 who created the domaine in 1859
- Louis Jean Batiste Jadot - 1873 à 1939
- Louis Auguste Jadot - 1909 à 1962 - My grandfather, and my grandmother Elisabeth Jadot - 1910 à 2005
- Louis Alain Jadot - 1945 à 1968 - my uncle
